Interactive sodium tool
Sodium Day Tracker
Add foods as you go. The tracker totals the sodium values you enter and compares the sum with a selected general reference.
How to interpret the result
The result is an estimate based on the values you enter. Reference comparisons provide context, not a personal sodium prescription.
Medical information limits
If you have a medical condition or an individualized sodium restriction, follow guidance from your qualified healthcare professional. Read the medical disclaimer.
How this tool works
The Sodium Day Tracker adds sodium from the foods and serving amounts you enter and compares the running total with a selected general reference value.
Inputs
- Food name
- Sodium per serving in milligrams (mg)
- Number of servings eaten
- Comparison reference
Method
For each entry: sodium per serving × servings eaten. The tracker adds all entry totals. Reference percentage = total sodium ÷ selected reference × 100.
Assumptions
The sodium value entered accurately represents the food and serving size you consumed.
Limitations
The tracker does not determine your personal sodium requirement. Product formulations, restaurant recipes and serving sizes can vary.
